DUSHANBE, March 16, 2010, Asia-Plus -- This year, the spring holidays in Tajikistan’s schools will last for only five days.
According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), the spring holidays will last from March 20 to March 25 (usually, the spring holidays last until April1).
We will recall that Tajik government last December extended winter holidays in the country’s schools by 12 more days. The winter holidays started on December 29, 2009 and the schools reopened on January 24, 2010. The decision to extend the winter holidays was made to regulate school holidays and ensure good health of school students, the source at MoE said.
The winter holidays were extended due to five-day reduction on spring and summer holidays. The spring holidays will last from March 20 to March 25 and students will complete their school year on June 1; usually, the school year is completed in Tajikistan on May 25.
