DUSHANBE, March 29, 2010, Asia-Plus - The U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe announces that from March 29 through March 31, all interested residents of Tajikistan may participate in an innovative, online brainstorming discussion.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, inspired by President Obama’s “New Beginnings” speech to Cairo University, the U.S. Government is hosting Global Pulse 2010, an innovative, online brainstorming discussion.

During this unique 72-hour event, individuals throughout the world will have a chance to participate in and influence a global conversation centered on 10 challenges facing the global community within the fields of science and technology, economic opportunity, and human development.

This global event will feature international leaders from government, private industry, and civil society organizations, along with influential individuals who will log on to guide the live conversations, encourage participation, provoke deeper thinking, and offer insight into the following topics: empowering women and girls; enabling essential education; building stronger partnerships; exercising political and civil rights; inspiring a new generation; promoting global health; advancing entrepreneurship, trade and economic opportunity; fostering science, technology and innovation; supporting a sustainable Planet; and pursuing grand challenges.

This event is held online, in English.  All American Corners in Tajikistan are also hosting participants and providing free internet access.
