KULOB, April 6, 2010, Asia-Plus -- 31,268 hectares have been allocated to cotton in five cotton producing districts of the Kulob zone in Khatlon province this year, which is 2,542 hectares fewer than in 2009, according to the Kulob agriculture directorate.
Abdullo Rajabov, lead specialist with the Kulob agriculture directorate, says local farmers have planted cotton on 2,431 hectares by April 6.
