DUSHANBE, April 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) for the first quarter of this year has amounted to more than 3.9 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 890 million U.S. dollars), which is 6.8 percent more than for January-March 2009, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
GDP structure by sources of income includes: production of services – 57.9 percent; production of goods – 30 percent; and taxes – 12.1 percent.
The country’s GDP for January-February 20010 amounted to more than 2.4 billion somoni (equivalent to US$550 million) and the gross domestic product for 2009 was 20.622 billion somoni (more than US$4.7 billion at the exchange rate for early January 2010).
