KHUJAND, April 17, 2010, Asia-Plus -- More than 75 kilograms of narcotics have been seized in Sughd province over the first three months this year, which is three times fewer than in same period of last year (227 kilograms), Said Rahimov, the deputy chief of the Sughd counternarcotics directorate, told reporters in Khujan don April 16.
Over the report period, local law enforcement authorities have revealed 86 drug-related crimes and 97 persons, including 10 women, have been arrested on drug charges.
Operations carried out by local drug control officers in January-March 2010 have resulted in braking up three drug trafficking gangs in the province, Rahimov said.
