DUSHANBE, April 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Prospects of further expansion bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and industry were the focus of a meeting of Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali with members of visiting delegation of Russia’s Penza region that took place here on April 21, the source at the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) said.
According to him, Gul Sherali held talks with the Penza deputy governors Yuri Bykov and Vladimir Parshin as well as Aleksandr Styazhkov, the head of international cooperation department of the Penza administration.
Senior representatives of the Penza enterprises Radiozavod, Elektropribor, Mayak-Kantz, Penzatyazhpromarmatura and Biosintez also attended the meeting.
The Penza regional administrators and industrialists were interested in establishing cooperation with Tajik energy and industrial enterprises, the source said.
As it had been reported earlier, a group of the Penza regional administrators and entrepreneurs arrived in Dushanbe on April 20 to establish cooperation with Tajik enterprises and conclude contracts on delivery of their products to Tajikistan. The same day, the delegation met with senior representatives of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The sides discussed opportunities of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Penza region.
On April 20, the delegation also met with representatives from Tajik business community to discuss areas that could drive the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and the Penza region.
