KHUJAND, April 27, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Medical workers in Sughd province are making rounds to revel children aged 1 to 6 who have been left unimmunized against polio, according to the Sughd health directorate.
Health departments in all cities and districts of the province have already prepared plans of carrying out polio immunization campaign amongst local children, the source said.
Upon recommendations of the World health Organization (WHO), the National immunization Days will start in all cities and districts of Sughd on May 4 this year. Polio vaccine doses are expected to be delivered from Dushanbe in the near future.
