DUSHANBE, May 13, 2010, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday May 13, President Emomali Rahmon received visiting Iran’s Minister of Defense and Logistical Support for Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahid.
According to presidential press service, the sides discussed prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the course of the talks, they expressed interest in expansion of bilateral military and technical cooperation.
President Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation with Iran and called on defense ministries of both countries to expand cooperation in all directions.
We will recall that Iran’s Minister of Defense and Logistical Support for Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahid, arrived in Dushanbe Wednesday evening on a two-day official visit. The purpose of the visit is for Ahmad Vahid to discuss with Tajik officials further expansion of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
