DUSHANBE, May 15, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- The administration of the limited liability company, Gazpromneft-Tajikistan, plans to apply to Uzbek authorities over the groundless delay of freight cars with cargos for the company on the territory of Uzbekistan, Farhod Mirzoyev, the deputy director general of Gazpromneft-Tajikistan, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, freight cars of the company have been held up on Uzbek territory without any reasons since February this year.  “To-date, damage caused to the company by the freight-traffic delays have amounted to 800,000 U.S. dollars,” said Mirzoyev, “In this connection, we are preparing the document and we will officially apply to Uzbek authorities on this subject in the near future.”

Some 300 freight loaded with cargos for Gazpromneft-Tajikistan have been stranded in Uzbekistan to this day, he noted.

Despite this, the company has managed to maintain oil product prices.  “We have doubled deliveries and delivered additional 10,000 tons of oil products in order to maintain the prices,” Mirzoyev said.

Gazpromneft-Tajikistan is one of largest oil product suppliers in Tajikistan.  The company that operates 19 its own refuel stations in the country now accounts for 33 percent of oil product deliveries to Tajikistan.
