DUSHANBE, May 19, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Sultanate of Oman intends to construct a settlement in Khatlon province for families whose houses were destroyed by recent floods, Mr. Yusuf Bin Alawai bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, told journalists in Dushanbe today after a meeting with President Emomali Rahmon.
According to him, a special commission will arrive in Tajikistan in the near future to discuss the place for the future settlement that will be called Oman and determine the number of houses that will be constructed.
Mr. Yusuf Bin Alawai bin Abdullah noted that the Sultanate of Oman was interested in expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Tajikistan. “We could launch joint ventures for processing fruits and other farm produce as well as cooperate in the filed of animal husbandry,” the Omani foreign minister noted.
