KULOB, May 19, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Damage inflicted by recent flood and mudflow on the electric system in the city of Kulob has been estimated at 530,670 somoni.
Power engineering specialists from Dushanbe, Norak, Danghara and districts subordinate to the center have arrived in Kulob to assist with rehabilitation of the electricity-supplying network.
Jumakhon Sharipov, the head of the Kulob electricity supplier, says the work on rehabilitation of some 56 kilometers of power transmission lines is expected to be finished by May 25.
He added that the Kulob electricity supplier would fund construction of one residential building for victims of the Kulob flood.
