DUSHANBE. June 4. “Asia-Plus” -- Special operation against two gunmen involved in shooting at police officers on June 2 at Mayhura check point ended in Tajikistan. The two have reportedly escaped from the scene shortly after the shooting.
The police have managed to find the two gunmen, Tajik Interior Ministry told the AP. However, the two have opened fire on police officers and the police have opened return fire. “As a result of the shooting the two gunmen were killed. One SWAT officer has been killed and one civilian injured,” the source reported.
Other details, including information about identification of the criminals, are not reported. The AP monitors the situation and will provide more information as soon as possible.
