KHOROG. June 9. “Asia-Plus” -- More than 99.5% of children from the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast reported covered by the nation-wide vaccination campaign. A total of 96.360 children from 6 to 15 years of age have been covered by the three-stage vaccination campaign which started in early May this year, director of the regional immune prophylaxis Iqbol Islomov told the AP.
The remaining 0.5% are children who have left the region but were not removed from the registration list, he said. We know where they are and they will be vaccinated as well.
He added that vaccination covered additional 427 children who arrived in GBAO from other regions.
“Under the decision of the Tajik Health Ministry, vaccination campaign has also covered children from 16 to 17 years of age. In other words, vaccination will cover all 11-grade pupils. The second stage of the vaccination campaign for teenagers will start on June 15-19,” he added.
