DUSHANBE. June 10. “Asia-Plus” -- This morning Uzbekistan introduced new border crossing measures for Tajik citizens at border control posts located at the Tajik-Uzbek border, spokesman for the Central Department of Border Guards of the Tajik State National Security Committee Hushnud Rahmatulloev told the AP.
He said the move is connected with the conduction of the regular summit of heads of SCO member states in Tashkent.
“During this summit only those Tajik citizens are allowed to pass Tajik-Uzbek border who have Uzbek visa or telegrams confirming their participation in funeral ceremonies or other events. Limitations are not applicable to Tajik citizens returning back from Uzbekistan and citizens of third states,” he said.
He expressed hope that these measures will be removed upon the completion of the summit.
