Dushanbe. June 25. “Asia-Plus” -- Yesterday, June 24, Safarali Najmiddinov, Tajik Minister of Finance, and Stephan Nellen, Swiss Ambassador to Tajikistan, signed a bilateral convention “On avoidance of double taxation regarding income and capital taxes” and a protocol to the given convention.
The goal of the convention is to remove double taxation, protect residents of one state from discriminative taxation in another member state, mutual exchange of information between competent bodies of the two member states, Tajik Finance Ministry’s secretariat told the AP.
The two sides believe that the newly signed document will become an additional impulse for the development of economic and trade relations between the two states and will contribute to activation of economic activity of investors.
“The sides have also discussed the issues and perspectives of mutual cooperation in the field of public funds reform, budget planning system and treasury execution,” the source has said.
Tajik Minister of Finance thanked Switzerland for constant support and mutual understanding and noted that further development and expansion of cooperation between the two countries will help develop Tajikistan’s economy.
