DUSHANBE, July 16, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Over the first six months of this year, 2,610 people have been fined a total of some 961,000 somoni for violation of the country’s land use code, the head of the Committee for Land Management and Geodesy, Mahmadtohir Zokirov, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe today.
According to him, 5,375 instances of the violation of the country’s land legislation have been recorded in Tajikistan over the report period.
“The largest number of the land code violations has been registered in Khatlon province – 2,461,” said Zokirov, “1,819 such cases have been registered in Sughd province, 38 cases in Gorno Badakhshan, and 1,056 in districts subordinate to the center.”
