KHUJAND, July 17, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Sughd province is experiencing electricity shortages, however, this has not affected activities of local industrial enterprises and electricity supplies to residential customers, according to the Sughd electricity supply network.
The source says electricity deficiency in the province is now some 2 million kWh of electric power per day. The province now consumers 12.5 million kWh of electricity per day; 1.3 million kWh of this amount is imported from the neighboring countries.
“We are getting out of the situation through a close interaction with local water economy enterprises that allows regulating power interchanges,” said the source, “Industrial enterprises and residential customers have been receiving the required amount of electricity.”
