DUSHANBE, July 19, 2010, Asia-Plus -- In January-June 2010, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 3.475 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 793 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to January-June 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 112 percent.
Over the first six months of this year, 455 enterprises (54.6 percent) exceeded the January-June 2009 production level. In the meantime, 163 enterprises, or 19.5 percent of the overall number (827), were not in operation.
Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 1.043 billion worth of goods over the same six-month period, which is 27.2 percent more than in the same period last year.
Enterprises that are not subject to a MoE have produced 1.4748 billion somoni worth of goods over the report period, which is 8.3 percent more than in January-June 2009.
