DUSHANBE, July 21, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Minister of Labor and Social Care Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov told reporters in Dushanbe yesterday that 453 families have been relocated from the Roghun HPP reservoir zone to other areas in January-June 2010.
According to him, the Ministry of Labor and Social Care controls the process of resettlement of families from the reservoir zone to other regions of the country.
“Preferential loans for a total amount of 1.305 million somoni and extraordinary grants for a total amount of 123,500 somoni have been allocated for these families,” said the minister, “Under the schedule, 907 households home to 1,509 families (6,500 people) should be relocated from the Roghun reservoir zone during this year. In the remaining six months, we have to relocate more than 1,000 families: eleven of them will be relocated to Gorno Badakhshan; 165 families will be relocated to Khatlon province, 657 families will be relocated to Sughd province; and 269 families will be relocated to districts subordinate to the center.”
