KHOROG, July 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The number of youth from Gorno Badakhshan wanting to enter military schools is increasing from to year, the deputy chief of the GBAO military registration and enlistment office, Behzod Saidibrohimvov, remarked at a news conference in yesterday.
“This year, 33 school leavers have lodged applications for entering the Military Institute at the Ministry of Defense (five persons more compared to 2009) and 43 school students have lodged applications to enter the Military Lyceum at the Ministry of Defense (10 persons more compared to 2009),” Saidibrohimov said.
According to him, ten persons will be accepted to the Military Institute and 20 persons will be accepted to the Military Lyceum by presidential quota.
Saidibrohimov added some 100 young men from Gorno Badakhshan now study at military schools in Tajikistan and abroad.
