QURGHON TEPPA, July 26, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Medical facilities in the southern Khatlon province are experiencing an acute shortage of medical workers.
“The province now has 1,012 medical worker vacancies, including 800 nursing vacancies,” the Khatlon health directorate head Sherali Buzmakov said. In this connection, the directorate organized a job fair last May, offering 200 nursing vacancies.
“Local medical facilities are also experiencing shortage of physicians though 128 young specialists have arrived in the area this year to work with local medical facilities,” the health official noted.
1,530 various medical facilities now operate in Khatlon.
