KULOB, July 28, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Over the first six months of this year, 672 new cases of tuberculosis have been detected in all the 10 districts of the Kulob zone in Khatlon province, which is 107 cases more than in the same period last year, according to the Kulob center for sanitary and epidemiologic supervision.
Vose, Kulob and Hamadoni top the districts in the Kulob zone in terms of the number of tuberculosis cases, the source noted.
Vose district accounts for a third of the overall number of TB sufferers registered in the area. Over the report period, 221 residents of the district have sought TB medical care; 178 of them are newly detected TB sufferers, the source said.
According to him, two lethal outcomes among TB patients have been registered in the area over the first half-year of 2010.
