DUSHANBE, July 30, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has worked out draft national standards of corporate governance in Tajikistan.
The source at a MoF said the standards had been worked out within the framework of the activity of the working group for development of a model code of corporate governance in Tajikistan. The working group was set up at the MoF in June 2009 under expert and technical support of the IFC Central Asia Corporate Governance Project, which is aimed at improving corporate governance practices of Tajikistan’s joint stock companies, including banks.
The national standards of corporate governance have been worked out on the basis of the best national and international practices of governance of enterprises and in compliance with the provisions of Tajikistan’s legislation, the source said.
