DUSHANBE, August 6, 2010, Asia-Plus -- We give priority to the construction of the railway link connecting Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Iran and the power transmission line Tajikistan-Mazari Sharif-Herat-Mashhad and our countries intend to attract foreign investments for implementation of these projects, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon told reporters in Tehran on August 5, following the fourth summit of the leaders of Tajikistan, Iran, ad Afghanistan.
He also noted that the Afghan problem could not be solved by military force only and active participation of international community in reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy is necessary for solving it.
Hailing efforts of the Afghan government to fight terrorism and extremism, the Tajik leader noted that time has come for closer cooperation between Islamic nations for seeking solution to the economic problems and strengthening security.
