QURGHON TEPPA, August 18, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Cotton-ginning factories in Khatlon province have been made ready for acceptance of cotton, Abdujabbor Bahodurov, the head of the Khatlon industry department, told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, a special working group has checked preparedness of local cotton ginneries for acceptance of cotton. “However, the pricing issue has not yet been solved,” said Bahodurov, “We are currently studying financial opportunities of the cotton-ginning factories.”
He reminded that cotton producing farms now have an opportunity to decide themselves to whom and on which terms they will sell their cotton. “This practice yielded good results last year,” Bahodurov added.
39 cotton-ginning factories now operate in Khatlon province.
