DUSHANBE, August 20, Asia-Plus -- Outgoing Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Country for Tajikistan Makoto Ojiro conferred here on Thursday (August 19) with Tajik Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) press service, Najmiddinov and Ojiro exchanged views on fruitful cooperation between the Government of Tajikistan and the Asian Development.
Najmiddinov expressed gratitude to Ojiro for an active and fruitful work and stressed that Tajikistan was interested in further expansion of cooperation with ADB, the MoF press service said.
ADB began operations in Tajikistan in 1998. Over the report period, the Bank has provided more than 500 million U.S. dollars to Tajikistan in preferential loans, grants, and technical assistance for implementation of various economic and social projects. ADB’s main task is to channel financial and technical resources to help Tajikistan improve the overall economic situation, reduce poverty, and rehabilitate infrastructure.
