DUSHANBE, August 23, 2010, Asia-Plus -- On Friday August 20, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met in Yerevan with His Armenian counterpart Edvard Nalbandyan on sidelines of an informal meeting of the heads of state of member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) that took place in the Armenian capital the same day, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
The two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Armenia.
Zarifi and Nalbandyan expressed satisfaction with the level of political contacts between their countries both in bilateral and multilateral formats and pointed to the necessity of intensification of work of the Tajik-Armenian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and ways for further expansion of bilateral interaction within international and regional organizations.
