DUSHANBE, August 25, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit) has announced the contest among local journalists for participation in the training seminar entitled “Quality of Journalistic Materials.”
“Fifteen journalists having operational experience of not less than two years will be competitively selected for participation in the seminar,” said the Nansmit director Nouriddin Qarshiboyev, “The main objective of the event is in raising analytical and investigative skills of its participants in order to enhance quality of journalistic materials.”
According to him, the seminar participants will consider legal and ethical aspects of journalistic work, work with sources of information, etc. The seminar will also pay a special attention to practical work on writing materials.
The best works will be published in media, the Tajik media watchdog head said, adding that applications for participation in the seminar are accepted till August 28.
Nansmit organizes the seminar in the framework of the project, Support to Tajikistan’s Independent Media, under support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
