DUSHANBE, September 6, 2010, Asia-Plus - The Social-Democratic Party of Tajikistan (SDPT) has initiated the establishment of the Alliance of Democratic Forces in Tajikistan, the SDPT leader Rahamtillo Zoirov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the constituent assembly will take place in Dushanbe in late September. “We are currently conducting consultations on the establishment of the alliance with representatives of political parties and public associations,” Zoirov said.
“At present three political parties and several NGOs are actively working on the establishment of the alliance,” noted the SDPT leader, “I cannot yet name these political parties and NGOs.”
He added they had decided to establish the alliance in order to give a new impulse to development of democracy in the country.
The constituent assembly is expected to endorse the alliance leadership and its program.
