DUSHANBE, September 6, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Several groups of activists of the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan (IRPT) are currently in the Russian Federation to hold meetings with Tajik labor migrants working there, according to IRPT’s headquarters in Dushanbe.
“To-date, the IRPT activists have already held a number of meetings with representatives of Tajik Diasporas in the cities of Yekaterinburg, Perm, Samara, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Kazan and Moscow, Hikmatullo Sayfullozoda,” a spokesman for IRPT, said.
According to him, the main objective of the meetings is in getting acquainted with life of Tajik labor migrants working in Russia and congratulating them on the upcoming Ramadan Holiday.
“We have no problems with organizing meetings with fellow-countrymen, because during the holy month of Ramadan, they gather in mosques for praying,” Sayfullozoda said.
