DUSHANBE, September 8, 2010, Asia-Plus -- No changes have been made to activity of crossings on Tajikistan’s border in connection with celebrations to mark the country’s independence, Khoushnoud Rahmatulloyev, a spokesman for the main border guard directorate within the State Security for National Security (GKNB), told Asia-Plus today.
“Unlike the previous years, the special regime for border patrol has not been introduced this year and control measures have not been tightened at the border crossing checkpoints,” the spokesman said.
In the meantime, it has come to Asia-Plus knowledge that like other power-wielding structures of the country the border troops have also been on alert since August 23, following a dramatic jailbreak in Dushanbe.
