DUSHANBE, September 14, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The board of directors of limited liability company, Somon Air, has appointed Alisher Rustamov, who had previously worked with Dushanbe International Airport, director general of Somon Air, according to the Somon Air press service.
Firouz Eshonqulov, formerly acting director general of Somon Air, was appointed the first deputy director of the airline.
Somon Air is an airline based in Dushanbe. It is Tajikistan''s first private air carrier. The Somon Air fleet now includes three Boeing 737-800s and as part of the airline''s current expansion, it plans to increase its total fleet to five aircraft until the end of this year.
Somon Air now operates to the following destinations: Germany (Frankfurt am Main); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Russia (Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Orenburg, St Petersburg, Sochi, and Yekaterinburg); Tajikistan (Khujand); Turkey (Istanbul); and United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
