DUSHANBE, September 20, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Problems facing Tajikistan’s banking and financial sector and measures being taken in post-crisis period were a major topic of a meeting of Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov with the head of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) team Todd Schneider that took place here on September 17, according to the Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The two, in particular, discussed the implementation of the IMF program in the first half-year of 2010, forecasts for the second-half year, and Tajikistan’s draft national budget for 2010.
Najmiddinov expressed gratitude to the IMF team for support and pointed out the importance of cooperation between the Government of Tajikistan and the Fund, the source said.
