DUSHANBE, September 23, Asia-Plus -- The Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (Bundeskriminalamt or BKA) has donated three Volkswagens to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan.
According to the DCA press service, German Ambassador to Tajikistan Doris Hertrampf and Tajik drug control chief Rustam Nazarov participated in a donation ceremony that took place on September 22.
BKA provided the vehicles to the Tajik counternarcotics agency in the framework of bilateral cooperation to assist Tajik drug control officers in their efforts to combat drug trafficking.
A mutually beneficial cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan and Germany began in the late 1990s and since that time, the Federal Criminal Office of Germany has provided considerable assistance to Tajik law enforcement agencies, providing them with equipment, special means and workbooks, raising professionalism of Tajik law enforcement personnel, etc.
