DUSHANBE, October 2, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- State and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan were discussed here on October 1 in the course of the talks of President Emomali Rahmon with visiting Pakistani Minister for Petroleum Natural Resources Syed Naveed Qamar.

According to presidential press service, the two expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries that has expanded in recent years.

They outlined sectors like energy (implementation of the CASA 1000 project) and transportation (construction of roads and rail link connecting the two countries) as areas that could drive the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Pakistan.

Emomali Rahmon and Syed Naveed Qamar expressed readiness for expansion of Tajik-Pakistani economic ties in the near future, presidential press service said.
