KONIBODOM, October 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The first 30 conscripts from the city and the district of Konibodom in Sughd province were sent to serve in the armed forces on October 4.
In all, 180 local young men of conscription age will be drafted during the ongoing autumn conscription campaign, the chief of the Konibodom military registration and enlistment office, Rustam Isroilov, said, noting that nearly 1,000 residents of Konibodom are currently serving in the army.
We will recall that an autumn conscription campaign was launched in Tajikistan today and the draft affects able-bodied male citizens in the age bracket of 18 years old to 27 years old, who are not members of the armed forces reserve.
