KHUJAND, October 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Rotational power cutoffs have been introduced in rural areas of Sughd province.
Muminjon Toshmatov, the head of the Sughd electricity supply network, says the rotational power cutoffs were introduced in connection with preparation of substations of the 500-kV power transmission lines South-North for operation during autumn-winter 2010-2011.
Rotational power cutoffs were introduced on October 1 across the whole province, except cities. “We have not yet set up a certain schedule of rotational power cutoffs,” said Toshmatov, “Electricity will be cut off for several hours in the morning and the evening as the need arises.”
