DUSHANBE, October 6, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- Over the first eight months of this year, the lowest inflation rates among the CIS nations have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, the CIS Committee for Statistics reports.

In Kyrgyzstan, inflation for January-August 2010 stood at only 4.1 percent, Azerbaijan – 5 percent and Tajikistan – 5.4 percent.

In the meantime, the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan reports that in Tajikistan, inflation for January-August 20010 stood at 4.8 percent    

Over the same eight-month period, the highest inflation rate among the CIS nations has been registered in Ukraine – 9.2 percent.  Ukraine is followed by Armenia (7.7 percent) and Moldova (7.1 percent).In Kazakhstan, inflation for the report period stood at 7.0 percent, Belarus – 6.7 percent, and Russia – 6.4 percent.

Over the report period, an average inflation rate within the Commonwealth of Independent States was 7.0 %.

Apart from inflation rates, the CIS Committee for Statistics released data on industrial production growth.  Within the CIS area, the industrial production rose on average 9 percent during January-August 2010.  

The highest industrial production growth rate has been reported in Kyrgyzstan (20.8%) and Armenia (11.5%). In Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine the industrial production growth rate has reached 10.9 percent, Belarus – 9.8 percent, Russia – 9.2 percent, Moldova – 5.2 percent, and Azerbaijan – 3.8 percent.
