KHOROG, October 7, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Gorno Badakhshan has reached 61 percent of the autumn conscription target to this day, the GBAO military registration and enlistment office chief Zafar Davlatov told Asia-Plus.
According to him, Shugnan district fulfilled its autumn conscription target on October 7 and Roshtqala, Ishkashim, Rushan and Murgab districts are expected to fulfill their conscription targets within the next few days.
“A rather complex situation is in the city of Khorog as well as Vanj and Darvoz districts that are experiencing shortage of reserves,” said Davlatov, “However, we are sure that we will fulfill our conscription target in time.”
The autumn conscription campaign is carried out from October through November, and the draft affects able-bodied male citizens in the age bracket of 18 years old to 27 years old who are not members of the armed forces reserve.
