DUSHANBE, October 18, 2010, Asia-Plus -- In January-September 2010, Tajikistan has produced a total of 5.3496 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to January-September 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 110.6 percent.
Industrial products worth 3.7451 billion somoni were delivered over the report period, or 96.2 percent of the volume of products produced.
Over the first nine months of this year, 475 enterprises (55.9 percent) exceeded the January-September 2009 production level. In the meantime, 202 enterprises, or 23.8 percent of the overall number (850), were not in operation.
Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 1.5444 billion worth of goods over the same nine-month period, which is 22 percent more than in the same period last year.
Cotton-processing enterprises have produced 237.6 million somoni worth of output in January-September 2010, which is 4.4 percent more than in the same period last.
Enterprises that are not subject to a MoEI have produced 2.277 billion somoni worth of goods over the report period, which is 1.7 percent more than in January-September 2009.
