DUSHANBE, October 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Reintegration Center for Labor Migrants opened in Dushanbe on October 21.
Abdullo Qodiri, the head of department for public relations and international cooperation within the Agency for Social Care, Employment and Migration (Agency), said the center had been established at the Agency labor migration directorate under support of the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) Tajikistan.
“The center has been set up in the framework of the project, Awareness, Capacity Building and Networking for maximizing the impact of migration on growth and development of rural communities, financed by the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan,” Qodiri said.
According to him, the center is dedicated to promote social and vocational reintegration of labor migrants returning home. The center will make available individual consultations to returning labor migrants, help them assess their vocational skills and assist them in opening their own businesses.
Similar centers will be set up in other regions of the country in the future as well, Qodiri added.
