DUSHANBE, October 23, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Khatlon police officers have seized more than 14 kilograms of narcotics in Jilikul district.
According to the Interior Ministry press service, police found nearly 7 kilograms of raw opium and 7.775 kilograms of hashish on October 22 while searching Opel-Vectra of Hokimkhouja Safarov from Bokhtar district.
Hokimkhouja Safarov and his passenger Qutbiddin Gulov from the city of Qurghon Teppa were detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
