DUSHANBE, October 29, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The 45-resident of the border village of Guliston in Khatlon’s Shouroobod district, Mirzomurod Kholov was detained not far from the Tajik-Afghan border yesterday, according to the Ministry of Interior.
Some kilograms of marijuana, 8.5 kilograms of raw opium and 4 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from him.
We will recall that Tajik law enforcement authorities have seized 2,652 kilograms of narcotics over the first nine months of this year. A totaled included 646 kilograms of heroin, 605 kilograms of raw opium and 1,400 kilograms of cannabis. During the same period, security forces arrested 687 people on drug charges, including 37 foreign nationals.
