DUSHANBE, November 4, 2010, Asia-Plus - Yesterday Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamrokhon Zarifi received the Permanent under-Secretary of State at the British Ministry of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Mr. Simon Fraser.
The sides have discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, talked about security in the region, situation in Afghanistan, regional importance of Tajikistan’s energy projects, including CASA-1000 project and forthcoming trip of Tajik parliamentarians to Great Britain, Tajik Foreign Ministry told the AP.
“The sides paid special attention to the importance of economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan through implementation of regional projects such as construction of railroads, highways, border posts, hydropower stations and power lines,” the source reported. Mr. Fraser stressed that Great Britain will cooperate with countries of the region to ensure peace in Afghanistan, the source said.
