DUSHANBE, November 4, 2010, Asia-Plus - A small 282Kw hydropower station will be launched in Fatkhobod village of Tajikobod region today.
According to Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Islamic Development Bank allocated more than 3mln Somoni for the construction of the hydropower station.
“The newly erected facility will provide electricity to Fatkhobod village,” the source has said, adding that a total of 229 small hydropower stations with a total capacity of 14.550Kwt operate in Tajikistan since 1991.
“24 small hydropower stations have become operational in the country this year. Construction of four of them was funded by international organizations and financial institutes, while the rest were funded by local investors,” the source said, adding that another six small hydropower stations will become operational in the country this year.
