DUSHANBE, November 12, 2010, Asia-Plus -- In 2011, Tajikistan’s national budget is expected to receive 530 million somoni (equivalent to 121 million U.S. dollars) due to production of primary aluminum and cotton fiber, Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov told Asia-Plus Thursday afternoon.
“Next year, the country is expected to yield 330,000 tons of raw cotton and we hope that cotton production will replenish the country’ budget by 280-300 million somoni in 2011,” the minister said.
He added that they also expect the production of primary aluminum to bring 230 million somoni to the national in 2011. “The Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) plans to produce 390,000 tons of primary aluminum next year,” Najmiddinov said.
