DUSHANBE, November 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- State and prospects of cooperation between the United States Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Tajikistan are a major topic of discussions of Mr. Masoud Karimpour, Regional Representative for Central Asia, UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia, with Tajik officials.
Mr. Karimpour arrived in Dushanbe on a two-day working visit on November 15, according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service.
On Monday, the UNODC official is meeting with senior representatives from Tajikistan’s counternarcotics agency, state committee for national security, ministries of foreign affairs, interior and health, as well as the customs service.
It is the first visit of Masoud Karimpour to Tajikistan in the capacity of the UNODC regional representative for Central Asia, said the source, noting that Karimpour’s visit to Tajikistan will conclude on Tuesday.
