DUSHANBE, September 22, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Sughd customs department have seized a large amount of heroin hidden in a train car carrying dried fruits.
According to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, officers from the customs checkpoint in Isfara district found 72 packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 14 kilograms yesterday while inspecting the train car loaded with dried fruits.
“It has been established that the cargo belongs to Tajik national Behrouz Boboyev, 30, and he was going to transport the heroin to Kazakhstan,” the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Behrouz Boboyev and an investigation is under way.
