DUSHANBE, October 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- More than 15 kilograms of hashish have been seized in Dushanbe, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI says a female drug pusher, K.S., 46, was detained with narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing more than 15 kilograms in Dushanbe on October 2. “It turned out that she bought the hashish from S.J., resident of the Vanj district, Gorno Badakhshan,” the source said, noting that S.J. was arrested as well.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pushers and an investigation is under way.
According to the statistical data from the Interior Ministry, Tajik law enforcement authorities have seized 3,152 kilograms of narcotics over the first eight months of this year, which is 31.5 percent more than in the same period last year.
