DUSHANBE, October 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Safarali Rajabov, chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on State Construction and Local Government also chairman of the Majlisi Oli (Tajik parliament) in 1995-2000, died in Dushanbe yesterday night, aged 56 of a stroke.
Safarali Rajabov will be buried at the Luchob cemetery n Dushanbe.
Safarali Rajabov was born on September 2, 1955 in the village of Chilcha Fayzobod district. He graduated from Dushanbe Teachers’ Training Institute in 1977 and took correspondence course at Tajik Agricultural Institute in 1983-1989.
Safarali Rajabov had been deputy of the Majlisi Oli since 1995. In 1995-2000, he was chairman of the Majlisi Oli. From 2000 to February 2005, he was Minister of Education. Since February 2005, he had been chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on State Construction and Local Government.
He is survived by a wife and eight children.
